Easily hauled a Heritage Softail Classic
Round trip around 800 miles. I did purchase the running side boards (those are great, and well made). I also used a pair of plastic car ramps on the floor next to the ramp to help ride the motorcycle up. Before trip I had welder squeeze the universal chock to snugly hold the front tire, I added skateboard tape to the ramp for better traction. Tip on assembly is to use red lock tight on the bolts that hold fender to frame, those shake loose and cause light bulb to brake. Tip#2 have extra light bulbs for trip. Once loaded I used single strap over seat to keep bike from bouncing up. Had S/O hold steady from the ground. Used endless loop straps on the forks, used strap on each side of bike to keep from leaning left or right, used extra strap on front tire as extra precaution. Held perfectly. On initial start, do check straps after a few miles, they do stretch/settle and require tightening. Then check at every stop, or every time after a big bounce just to make sure. Drove 60mph on highways, and really slow on roundabouts, and street corners.
