Things to consider:
- Never tow a vehicle with the rear wheels on the tow dolly.
- Your car’s steering wheel must remain locked when towing. Some vehicles require other settings which will unlock the steering wheel. If this is the case, then you must tie the steering wheel to prevent movement.
- Determine whether your automobile’s transmission should be placed in Park or Neutral. If the transmission must remain in Neutral for towing, then determine the required ignition setting to ensure that the transmission remains in Neutral while towing. If your vehicle’s ignition must remain in the ON position, then see number 2 above.
- Some automobiles require you to disconnect a battery terminal to ensure the automobile remains in Neutral. Again, refer to number 2 above when this is required. You may also be able to accomplish this by removing the ignition fuse. In either scenario, you may lose your automobile’s settings, so you may want to use a memory saver or memory keeper. These plug into your automobile’s 12V power supply/cigarette lighter.

Q: Will the wheel straps that you offer fit the tires on my vehicle?
A: The supplied tire nets (wheel straps) are universal in that they will fit most standard wheels measuring 14–17 inches. The dolly will accommodate larger wheels, but that requires different straps—not included.
Q: What is the maximum speed at which I can tow the car tow dolly?
