- To best maintain the integrity of the trailer, Tow Max is shipped (and will arrive) disassembled. Assembly will take approximately two hours and may require two people. Kindly review the images of the disassembled dolly in the photo gallery. You will be required to pick up from the nearest trucking terminal.

You must check with your automobile’s manufacturer to determine whether your vehicle can be towed using a tow dolly. Things to consider:
- Never tow a vehicle with the rear wheels on the tow dolly.
- Your car’s steering wheel must remain locked when towing. Some vehicles require other settings which will unlock the steering wheel. If this is the case, then you must tie the steering wheel to prevent movement.
- Determine whether your automobile’s transmission should be placed in Park or Neutral. If the transmission must remain in Neutral for towing, then determine the required ignition setting to ensure that the transmission remains in Neutral while towing. If your vehicle’s ignition must remain in the ON position, then see number 2 above.
- Some automobiles require you to disconnect a battery terminal to ensure the automobile remains in Neutral. Again, refer to number 2 above when this is required. You may also be able to accomplish this by removing the ignition fuse. In either scenario, you may lose your automobile’s settings, so you may want to use a memory saver or memory keeper. These plug into your automobile’s 12V power supply/cigarette lighter.
- All-wheel drive automobiles require careful consideration.

Q: Can I back a loaded dolly?
We do not recommend backing up with the tow dolly attached. The combination of a swivel pan and hitch ball creates two opposing pivot points, making control extremely difficult. Jackknifing can occur quickly, potentially causing damage to the dolly, the towed vehicle, or the tow vehicle.
Q: Will the wheel straps that you offer fit the tires on my vehicle?
The supplied tire nets (wheel straps) are universal in that they will fit most standard wheels measuring 14–17 inches. The dolly will accommodate larger wheels, but that requires different straps—not included.
Q: What is the maximum speed at which I can tow the car dolly?
For your safety and the protection of your vehicles and others on the road, the maximum recommended speed when towing our car dolly is 55 miles per hour. It is crucial to adhere to this limit, even if the posted speed limit is higher.
Q: Is a spare tire available for the Tow Max Car Tow Dolly?
The Tow Max Car Tow Dolly uses a common tire size, but the required load rating can be harder to find. For convenience, The USA Trailer Store offers a compatible spare tire available for purchase.

The tow dolly is a good product with a good price. The tire straps are not user friendly even though they are adjustable. We decided to order a different set of tire straps.

Great price , easy to pick up looks great
We took it out for the first time last week and it was easy to load our car and my husband said he did not notice any different in the drive it pulled like it was a part of the RV. Great price , easy to pick up looks great and seems to be great quality.

Tow Dolly Performance
I towed a vehicle on the dolly or more than 7000 miles. The dolly performed excellently ; however, the fenders split at thier seams causing the wiring to the liters to separate.

Bought this on-line, sight unseen. Exchanged a few e-mails with Derek. The tow dolly is everything it was represented to be and exactly what we wanted. Dolly is well constructed, easy to use and looks great. Payment was secured on-line, all paper work forwarded via e-mail. It was assembled and ready to pick up as requested. The only complaint, if you call it that, the non-descript building was very hard to find. Would definitely recommend
