The Slick Wheelie attaches in seconds to a 2" Class II or Class III receiver, and its all steel construction allows for this unit to haul bikes with a curb weight of up to 1000 lbs. Other transports require you to struggle with pushing your bike up a ramp. Not this baby!

It's as easy as...

1. Simply turn the crank and the cradle lowers to ground level

2. Insert and secure the front wheel. Then,

3. Turn the crank in the opposite direction to raise the bike to the transport position.

Really. It's just that simple.

FAQs

Do you have questions about this product? If so, take a look at some of The Slick Wheelie's FAQs.

Do I need lights on my motorcycle when towing with the Slick Wheelie?

Research indicates that because the Slick Wheelie is not a traditional trailer and the towing automobile's lights are not obstructed, additional lights are not needed. For safety, however, we offer two suggestions:

1.When driving at night, illuminate the motorcycle's running lights or purchase an inexpensive trailer lighting kit. These kits easily plug into your trailer lighting receptacle.

2.Check with your local law enforcement agency for regulations specific to your location (Laws sometimes change without the knowledge of some citizens.)

Will this type of towing affect my odometer reading?

Most odometers function in conjunction with the front tire. The front tire is elevated while in tow, so the odometer does not register any additional mileage. That being said, there are exceptions to any rule. Please refer to your owner's manual or contact the manufacturer with regards to your bike.

What kind of bike can be used with the Slick Wheelie?

Most 2 wheeled motorcycles can easily be towed with the Slick Wheelie. Trikes and side cars do not allow for the lean necessary for turning. There are 3 minimum requirements:

1.The front tire must allow for a strap to wrap around the rim, so there needs to be an opening.

2.The stabilizer straps must be able to attach to the handlebars or upper triple-tree - not the forks.

3.Custom raked front ends cannot extend more than 3 or 4 inches over the original stock lengths.

Can it be used with a motorcycle that has fairings or wind effects?

More often than not, a point of anchor can be found. Remember that the straps need either attach to the upper triple-tree or handle bars. Do NOT attach the straps to the forks. You cannot place straps over OR wrap around fairings, windshields, or anything that may interfere with the attaching of the motorcycle to the bumper. The straps that connect the motorcycle to the tow vehicle must be taut. As fairings and windshields can bend or break, attaching to either one may cause the straps to slip and become loose.

What size front tire will it accept?

Slick Wheelie will accommodate a front tire up to 5 1/2 inches in width - 6 inches, if you reduce the psi.

What is the weight capacity for the Slick Wheelie?

1000 pounds

Is there a particular bumper height that works best with The Original Slick Wheelie?

The bumper of the tow vehicle must measure 12'' - 16'' in height from the ground to the center of the receiver opening. If it does not, a drop receiver extension can be used.

Do you make a version of the Slick Wheelie that will fit a 1 1/4" receiver?

Slick Wheelie may not be used with a Class I receiver which has a 1.25'' square opening. If you have a Class I adapter, DO NOT use it with The Original Slick Wheelie. A Class I adapter is a device used to convert a Class I receiver to a Class II receiver. This adapter is not stable enough to work in conjunction with The Original Slick Wheelie. Although some internet sites may suggest the use of the two products together, DO NOT.

Using the Slick Wheelie, can I transport my shaft-driven motorcycle?

We have not received any reports from our consumers regarding any problems associated with the use of Slick Wheelie and shaft-driven motorcycles. However, know that some shaft-driven motorcycles use a lubrication pump that requires that the motor be running in order for it to work properly. Should you have any doubt or concern about your specific model, please contact your motorcycle manufacturer, authorized mechanic or dealer.

Will my motorcycle be damaged if I don't remove the drive chain before towing?

As with any engine concern, if you have any doubts, we recommend that you contact the service department of your bike specific dealership.

Can I purchase more than one Slick Wheelie?

Absolutely! Buy two or three. The Original Slick Wheelie makes an AWESOME gift!

Slick wheelie is genius. The law of physics will not let this fail and it is backed by quality materials and workmanship. I'm sure I'm not the first to say, I would pay a little bit more for a more sturdy crank system. The threaded rod it comes with is sufficient but would be easier to crank if it was bigger round to compensate for the length or even electric which plugs into the trailer lights socket.

Just finished towing my 2010 Heritage Softail Classic just over 600 mile each way behind a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan. Fuel mileage was diminished about 1 mpg over normal use. Will have to add helper springs to the van. Was a harrowing experience early on until confidence level came up that the bike was not going to lay down. Interstate highway speeds and turns are no problem. Parking lots and eatery maneuvering is still a mental challenge and do not know what stresses are on the bikes head bearings. Loading and unloading sequence of steps is in development but is improving. Trying to understand the geometry of the setup and what effect each strap tightening or loosening has on the process along with raising/lowering of the bike has been the most challenging. Initial step of having the tow vehicle and the bike on the same plane and in a straight line is the most critical part of the loading process. Am confident that lessons learned will make the next trip a little warmer and fuzzier. I got out the grease and greased the screw, pins, pivot points, and any pressure point I could find before using the hauler. Slick contact points make a Slick Wheelie "Slick"

  • NOT FOR A FULL DRESSER 3

I'm going to have to sell this thing. there is NO way to tie down my electraglide properly. looks like it would work great for a bike without a full fairing but ther is no access to the triple tree on my Harley and you can't tie off to the handlebars because they are soft mounted to the triple tree

Below is a link to check out my video review and test runof the ORIGINAL SLICK WHEELIE MOTORCYCLE TRAILER. https://youtu.be/5-jOcYnTK1k Here at Buke's World, we've Unboxed The Original Slick Wheelie Motorcycle Trailer for review. Let's cut to the chase. We tested the slick wheelie with a trial run. It actually trailered fine through the NYC streets, but not without concern. The CON's: #1 The Heart Attack When Cornering: Going straight gave no reason for worry, but when making any turns, the bike would lean so far that we cringed with fear of it hitting the ground, although it didn't. We tested the Slick Wheelie with a Harley Davidson Breakout that weighs about 5-600 lbs at most... Even though the Slick Wheelie is rated for 1,000 lbs, I'm not 100% sure I want to try it with my 900+ lb Victory, which happens to be the bike I purchased this trailer for. #2. The Cranking Mechanism: The Cranking Mechanism needs a total revamping. Although it works, it is not easy to use, very noisy, and surely only good for a few uses before replacing an essential part. As we cranked the 600 lb bike, we found ourselves tag teaming the task. I could only imagine how tired one will be cranking a 900 lb bike. Next, the annoying squeal produced while cranking almost made me want to stop the process and never use it again. And finally, the biggest issue we found with the crank is with the brass nut the threaded bar passes through. It is being shaved away with every turn, leading us to believe that we will only have limited use of the trailer before a replacement part is needed. I'm sure the manufacture is aware of this issue because of the hex screw holding it in place. I take it is there to remove and replace the brass nut when worn. #3 Although a motorcycle can be loaded by one person, two people are really needed. The PRO's: #1 This Trailer is lightweight. #2 It's very easy to store. #3 The actual setup and installation simple, barring the muscle work needed to crank it up. #4 All straps and hardware needed to load and go are included with the purchase. #5 It pulls the Motorcycle Straight, True, and Effortlessly. #6 No additional trailer lighting needed (But I highly suggest added visibility when trailing, especially at night) #7 It's a very useful tool when trailing to destinations that don't afford storage for conventional trailers. Overall, on a scale of 1 - 10, I rate this product a strong 7 because it did accomplish the task it was intended for. It's just a coincident I found 7 PROs and 3 CONs

  • WORKED VERY WELL! 4

We towed a Honda Rebel to Winchester,Va. from Butler,Pa., all interstate running 60 to 70 MPH. This product performed great with out a problem. We did not remove the chain, but we did add some external brake and turn signal lights for added protection. One person can use this bike hauler with out a problem. The only thing I would like to see for improvement would be a larger diameter crank bolt. Do not make sharp fast turns, and if you back up, best to have someone watching, or a good line of sight of the bike, it will turn quick! For the price...great product!

The trailer tires r eliminated but there's the bike tire that rides the road, pay attention to that ware, it's not a simple change or something u want to have to deal with when on leaisure time. Don't get bold on backing up with bike hooked up, easy enough to drop n rehook, saves accidental damage to bike and only takes minuets. Common sense and this is a money and time saver.

  • Original Slick Wheelie From Tucson to Texas 14 hours no issues 5

Posted by Chris McNutt on May 22nd 2017

I hauled a Kawasaki Ninja 650 with NO ISSUES at all from Tucson to Texas average speed 80mph. Slow and wide turns make common sense. I hauled behind my Toyota Highlander. I drilled some holes in the receiver hitch I had at the furthest outside edge to allow a hole to put a tie down hook as far out as possible. Made a slow turn or two and tightened the straps again. The turns look wicked and scary at first and you will think that this is not going to work but once on the highway the bike sets up straight and changing lanes there is not enough turn to make anything happen at all. You will never know it is back there. I pulled 14 hours at interstate high speeds and at night switched on the bike tail light and kept going. I would recommend this product but you need to use your brain and secure it to the vehicle properly. I used a motorcycle handle bar strap that is used for tying down motorcycles in trailers, I was able to use a double hook then from frame to handle bar. I did not use the provided straps that came with the Slick Wheelie. The ONLY thing I found an issue was the threads on the crank handle are losing some shavings after I cranked up and down. Maybe some oil is needed on the threads. I cranked all the way up and towed without an issue in that position.

I Purchased the Slick Wheelie recently , after looking at options available as to not tow an empty trailer 620 miles to pick up a New Pagsta Motorcycle from their assembly plant in Ivor VA, This item was easy to set up and secure the Motorcycle properly ( 410 LB Cruiser ) made i strap adjustment on the ride home @ 35 miles out and had no issues all the way to Boston MA . Also lost no fuel economy with the Bike in tow . i can send photo's if you would like
