  • Couldn't be simpler to install 5

Posted by Dennis on Apr 23rd 2019

Wow was I surprised and pleased how easy it was to install. The engineering folks did a great job of placing the holes for the new bolts in the perfect spots. I would suggest other people may need to use a couple of 2 x 4's to drive up on to lift up the back end so you can get your head under to see where things go or removing the old screws, (and yes, the factory screws are a torx head, they did their homework). I tried using a mirror but that wasn't very helpful.

Hitch was easy to install had very good instructions

  • Great luggage carrier 5

Posted by Unknown on Mar 4th 2019

I bought this and the Cooler Carrier for my 2017 Harley-Davidson Trike and it is great. It is very well made, installed easily and with the Cooler rack I carry additional luggage, tools, oil, rain gear and emergency gear, and never know it’s back there. I’ve made several long trips with it and it has been flawless. I recommend both the hitch and the Cooler rack!

  • Not so easy on 2018 Tri-glide 4

Posted by Chris on Feb 28th 2019

First off the build quality is great and couldn't find anyone that could come close to the price on same quality. On my 2018 Tri-glide, the brake lines were on top of the forward cross brace and pushed on the threaded bar keeping it from being in the correct position. My holes were off left to right and forward to rear. I re-drilled front holes in cross-brace to 3/8" to allow enough play to get bolts started and then with force and a lot of back and forth was able to start rear holes. Also broke the inside head out of the Safety T40 on rear. Had heated to at least 1000 degrees to release lock tite....what a pain in the a$$ to take that one out with vice grips....That was no fault of the USA trailer but a failed fastener which happens. Once everything was installed...I felt much better about my purchase and would do it all over again. Just dont time yourself...take your time to do it right even if it takes twice as long as expected.

  • Great with the Cooler Carrier! 5

I got the hitch for my 2017 Harley-Davidson Tri-Glide. It went on easily, is fairly hidden and carries the cooler above the line of the exhaust out of the way! I purchased the Cooler Carrier because I use it as a luggage carrier. I use long shanked padlocks as the quick release pins, to make sure nobody walks away with it.

  • Mounting holes 4

The mounting holes could have been Oblong to make Installation easier

The trailer hitch is solid and more versatile compared to a flat plate version I also looked at. Stronger bolts could have been used, I snapped one before it reached the required torque rating. Also the placement of the 4-outer mounting holes does not leave much metal/material around the bolts, hopefully not a rust/weakening issue in the future.

  • Best priced and great quality! 5

Very well made, strong build hitch. I have a 2017 Harley-Davidson Tri-Glide. They put two security bolts too close to the exhaust (too close for a 3/8 ratchet) in the rear most cross member with an internal nut bar tap welded in. I got the Security bolts out eventually and your replacement bolts went in much easier. The rear nut bar was difficult but I had it on jack stands and couldn’t use two hands. With a lift or rack I could have installed it in about an hour. After I got everything in and tightened down, it is solid like a rock. The gooseneck hitch ball is a must for the Trike to get the Cooler Carrier out of the centerline of the dual exhaust. The quality and strength of this hitch is very good. The price is much more reasonable than any of the competitors. I recommend your hitch to all Tri Glide owners.

  • Outstanding 5

Follow the instructions and it goes together easy and about an hours work you have a hitch that didn't break the bank, but it is as good if not better then the ones much higher.

  • Please read before mounting this hitch. 5 minutes of preparation will save you 2 hours of work. 3

It took 3 attempts to finally attach the hitch. The 1st time I got 2 of the mounting bolts aligned and started in the bolt holes but could not get a 3rd one to start. I took the hitch back down and drilled the holes out to remove the paint and enlarge them by a 1/16 of an inch. I then put it back in place and again started 2 bolts but the 3rd bolt kept cross threading in the nut bar. I had to remove it a 2nd time and then fish the nut bar out of the cross member so that I could run a tap in the nutbar holes to clean the threads. I then got 3 bolts started but the 4th hole on the Hitch Bracket would not align with the 4th mounting hole without using a bar clamp to twist the bracket into place. I spent over 2 hours mounting this hitch when it should have taken about 30 minutes. Also Harley uses the two holes in the crossmember to tie wrap a wiring harness inside the crossmember so they have to be removed before the nut bar can be put in place.
