The Blackhawk was built so you can haul in style!

Pull behind motorcycle trailers were designed to haul, but if you're going to travel why not do it in style. Our Blackhawk pull behind motorcycle trailer has everything you need for a great trip; it's stylish, low maintenance, protects your gear, and offers a smooth ride. The Blackhawk has carpeted interior & chrome center hubcaps, interior light, and has a front door for easy access during travel.

Fiberglass Trailers: Finish and Paint

Our fiberglass trailers are constructed of hand laid fiberglass. This type of material is made by combining resin with woven glass mat that is then placed by hand and sculpted into the desired shape. The thickness of the weave is meticulously controlled and the glass to resin ratio is high. The end results are hard wearing products that are built to last.

After molding, we seal our trailers with a acrylic paint. This is an assembly line process, and slight imperfections may be found in the finish. Most customers find that the acrylic paint is attractive and durable enough to protect the trailer from the elements, and use it directly out of the box. Others, however, hire a skilled painter to make it look even better.

Leave It to the Professionals

We believe that using a local shop for painting and color matching is in the best interest of our customers because sometimes mistakes happen. Imagine that your brand new trailer arrives two days before a major trip, and the color is wrong. How can you resolve this problem before your trip? Using a local painter will allow you to confirm the color as well as inspect in-person the work and quality of the paint job before you accept it. Additionally, in the event that a touch-up is ever needed, driving across town to the local painter will be far less expensive than shipping the trailer across country.

This is a service not often offered by some carriers who, in contrast, may only deliver to a freight terminal many miles away then require you to drive there to pick up your shipment. • Love the ability to go camping and riding cross country by towing my gear safely stored inside the trailer. 5

Posted by Eric Nelson on Jul 4th 2020

Last Saturday, The Saturday before the 4th of July 2020, I conducted a test ride by pulling the LX Luminal trailer with my 2018 Indian Chief Vintage motorcycle. I rode approximately 100 miles away to Big Bear,California and back to Orange County in Southern California. I considered it a safety shakedown ride much like the U.S.Navy conducts as they takes out a new ship for a shakedown testing the ship and all its designed capabilities before embarking for a planned cruise.. Well, I loaded the trailer as if I was actually going to a destination with all of my gear. Before trekking out on any future long distance planned rides starting in September of 2020. By the way, concerning shipment...After accepting and receiving the trailer from South Carolina located cross country 3000 miles to Orange County California, I examined the shipping container, noticing The LX Lumina was perfectly packaged and easy to unpack and set up by myself alone. NOT A DEAL BREAKER; HOWEVER: (NOTE:) BEWARE of the following...: first of all, I had opted out on getting the free trailer cover and instead chose the swivel ball tow head, along with purchasing the " COMBO MOTORCYCLE SWIVEL HITCH WITH 1 7/8" COUPLER" for $149. After installing both became very apparent that having a swivel ball head and swivel hitch w/ coupler attached at the same time defeats the singular designed purpose of either product. In fact, it can be dangerous as I quickly found out when taking a slow test run down my neighborhood street. When attempting to make a u-turn the swivel ball head was cocked left and and stayed in that position as the coupler rotated left. When straightening out from the u-turn, the swivel ball head stayed cocked left while the swivel coupler attempted to return to normal straight pulling position. I could easily feel the ball locked in position as the coupler could not complete the rotation to a normal upright straight position. So I immediately stopped and pulled hard upraight to disengage the ball head from it's cocked position. Not being a deal breaker, just thought someone at the shop should have made me aware of that when choosing the swivel ball head and purchasing the rotating coupler. However, if they were not aware. Perhaps they can be cognizant of such orders and advise the buyer accordingly! Anyway, I proceeded on my 100 mile trek to Big Bear and back, and the following was noticed... When taking off from a dead stop, do not attempt to quickly drive off. Pulling the trailer, I just had to just slowly start until I could feel the hitch and coupler set in place and then ride never noticing I was evening pulling a packed trailer. One thing I was amazed and in disbelief was the fact that my gas mileage improved by approximately two miles per hour. Not sure how I can explain it other than perhaps when packing my motorcycle rack behind my seat and the weight over the tire was a bigger factor in lowering my gas mileage than when pulling a trailer without any weight packed over the rear tire! Either way, the ride up and down the winding roads leading to Big Bear and back to Orange County was smooth and allowed me to relax from the initial anxiety of pulling a trailer with unknown possible issues. Therefore, I give the LX Lumina 5 stars and recommend it for anyone intending to use it it to store their camping equipment as I do! By the way, anyone interested in buying a swivel ball hitch? I have one I'll never be using! Eric Nelson U.S. Navy Veteran 1976-1985

  • First trailer 4

Posted by Kurt Schroeder on Jul 6th 2019

This is the first trailer I have ever purchased. The trailer look amazing considering that it was shipped across the U.S. There was a small issue with the shipping company on my end and the trailer was not delivered when promised. It arrived a week later than was expected. There was no damage other than a small scratch on the left tail light. I am extremely pleased. There was no assembly the trailer was read to go. I now have to get a flat four to square four adapter connection to be able to mate with the bike's electrical. Also mount the license plate. Thanks for the great job.

I bought this trailer new at the facility in Greenville since I live close by. I am pulling it with a 2016 Indian Roadmaster. The trailer, being black, compliments my bike which is also black. The trailer handles extremely well and will definitely carry all we have and then some. Had a few minor fitment issues, but thanks to Kyle, I was able to drop it off and pick it up the next day with everything fixed. Excellent customer service! We are looking forward to many future trips with this trailer. Thanks USA Trailer Store.

I have a 2007 Blackhawk trailer. It's a strong durable trailer. The previous owner lost the keys. Unfortunately. I had to have new ones made since the dealer does not keep spare parts on inventory. Which is understandable. The trailer is awesome like new, a little rust nothing a little elbow grease won't fix.

  • Great pulling trailer! 4

Posted by Kevin Jeske on Jun 10th 2018

When I bought the trailer, all seemed good. I got a hour down the road and checked everything out. The trailer hitch was about to fall off. The bolts were not tightened down properly. I got that fixed. No problems the rest of the way home. Once I loaded the trailer for my trip to Alaska I checked everything again. Now that it was loaded, the left tire had about an eighth of an inch clearance. That was not going to work. If I hit bumps the tire was going to scrub the fender. So I checked measurements. The left fender was at least 3/4 of an inch lower than the right. Also, the trailer body was not square with the frame. So I had to take the body loose from the frame and put it on square. Of course I had to drill new holes in the body. Once it was straight I checked the wheel fenders again. The left still didn't have the proper clearance. I ended up cutting 3/4 of an inch out of the left fender. After all this adjusting and a road test with the trailer, all is well. The only reason I gave the trailer 4 stars and not 2 is because the trailer pulls so nicely and it has plenty of room in it. If you get this trailer, be sure to check everything out on it. I have put a good 3000 miles on it so far and I am loving the trailer now!

My wife and I just got back from a 4635 mile trip towing this trailer. Other than going up steep grades, I hardly knew it was back there. It towed fantastic.

Trailer was very well protected for shipping, and arrived no damage. Trailer was everything I hoped it would be, and all paperwork was in order.

I really like the Black Hawk. Very well made, but the finish left a bit to be desired. There are place with no paint and a few rough places in the fiberglass. All in all though it is sweet. Just wish the finish was better.

Picked the trailer up in Greenville. Almost five hours thru the mountains in a heavy rain. Pulled very nice and no leaks. Enjoyed my visit to the store and was well taken care of. Very good product and people.
